According to the Bible the universe and everything in it was created by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - the God of the Jews - the God of Israel. His name is Yahweh.

He created humans in His own image. In other words He made humans like himself in every way except we don't have His power and mental capacity.

He tried to build a relationship with the first humans.

He also tested the first humans to see if they would trust in Him when He was accused of holding them back.

The first humans did not, they mistrusted His motives and decided to not follow His advice. In essence their faith failed.

This caused humans to suffer some terrible consequences - consequences we suffer under up to this day. Humans became intrinsicly evil and their spirits died.

Because of this the world is full of evil things. Corruption, murder, rape, lies, theft, war and many many other things.

Their spirits died because when you do anyting evil or bad - even just one thing - that dirties your spirit forever.

Yahweh (God) hates evil things because it at the final instance always hurts somebody somewhere.

He loves humans though - he sees them as his family - because we are the same as Him. To that end He has a backup plan to give humans a second chance if they want it. A way to get their spirits cleaned up.

He sent His only son, Jesus, to earth as a human. He tested Jesus to see if He would trust in Him where the first humans failed to. He tested Jesus very hard, even having Him crucified to death in order to make sure Jesus really had faith in Him no matter what.

Jesus trusted and had faith in God all the way till death. Never doubting that God's motives were good even though they may have been hard to understand.

Because of that God decided to raise Jesus from the dead. He gave him a new type of body and made Jesus the ruler of everything.

Also because Jesus lived a life devoid of any evil God accepted his death as a payment for the evil deeds of others (you and me included). To understand why this exchange was possible you will need to read some of the other articles on this site. We really need this exchange because we all do many bad things and we are all in quite a lot of serious trouble.

Since the point at which the first humans failed centered around their trust and faith in God, He decided that the second chance to be given to humans would also center around faith in Him.

God decided to make a radical, hard to believe claim about Jesus that would be spread all round the world to all humans (Matthew 17:5):
“This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

Each person who now hears this claim and believes God and therefore decides to listen to Jesus is instantly forgiven of all the bad things they have done in the past. Their spirits are cleaned up instantly and their hearts are renewed. God also imparts His Spirit to them. When they die they live on and in the end receive the same type of body that Jesus had received. A body that will live forever.

If you make this descision to believe God about Jesus and therefore you decide to try to follow Jesus - if you tell God so - He will accept you and forgive you for all you have done.

Then all that remains is to learn about Jesus and what he teaches and to then try do it.

As long as you then keep believing God about Jesus your salvation will be secure. 

Then get a Bible, read it, find a church and get baptised in water as Jesus commanded all those who believe God and want to listen to Jesus.

Then talk to God every day like you do to a friend - build a relationship with Him. Ask Him every day to impart His Spirit to you.

You will be amazed at the result of all of this. If you persevere after a while you will see a big change in your heart and life.
